The Kennedy Knights have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Trenton Central Tornadoes at 3:50 p.m. on December 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Kennedy is ranked 244th, while Trenton Central is ranked 231st).
On Thursday, Kennedy was able to grind out a solid win over Nutley, taking the game 34-26.
Kennedy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Perla Reyes out in front who scored 14 points. Zahniya Castillo was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Trenton Central's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Passaic an easy 52-27 victory.
Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Trenton Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Things could have been worse for Kennedy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-45 loss to Trenton Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
