The Northstar Christian Academy Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Wheatland-Chili Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northstar Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 703rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 124th).
While Northstar Christian Academy couldn't quite beat the Tigers last Saturday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 20-point loss they were dealt last Thursday. Northstar Christian Academy fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 52-49. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northstar Christian Academy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Wheatland-Chili had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 60-44 win over Medina.
Leighton Williams was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Schwenebraten, who scored ten points.
This is the second loss in a row for Northstar Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Wheatland-Chili, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Northstar Christian Academy came up short against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in February of 2022, falling 63-55. Can Northstar Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
