Southwestern entered their tilt with Scales Mound on Saturday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They ended the year with a bang, routing the Scales Mound Hornets 74-52. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Southwestern's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Scales Mound, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern will challenge Darlington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Scales Mound, they will take on Durand at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
