The DSST: Montview Knights had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points), and they went ahead and made it 12 on Saturday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 86-49 win over Arvada. DSST: Montview has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
DSST: Montview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tegra Kongolo, who scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kongolo has scored all season. Emerson Bowen was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Despite the loss, Arvada still got an impressive performance from Trevor Lucero, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Christian Lake, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
DSST: Montview pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points per game. As for Arvada, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DSST: Montview will take on The Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pinnacle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while DSST: Montview is ranked 44th). As for Arvada, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bennett at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Averaging 55.9 so far this season, Bennett's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Arvada better be ready for a challenge.
