It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Charter Oak Chargers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Covina with points to spare, taking the game 23-7. The win made it back-to-back wins for Charter Oak.
Sean Munoz was the offensive standout of the game as he picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Munoz was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 60 yards. Mitchell Gibbens did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and two extra points.
Charter Oak's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Covina, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-3.
Charter Oak will look to defend their home field on Friday against Highland at 7:00 p.m. Covina does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
