Snohomish is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Monroe is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Panthers will welcome the Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Snohomish is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Snohomish is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Glacier Peak, who was ranked 12th at the time (Snohomish was ranked 24th). The Panthers fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 4-2 last Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 2, 2024.
Snohomish saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordyn Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Monroe beat Cedar Park Christian 7-4 on Friday.
Addy Bryant was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vivian Knuckey, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
Monroe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Snohomish, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Monroe's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Snohomish has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Monroe, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Snohomish keep running through batters, or will the Bearcats buck the trend?
Snohomish might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Monroe in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
