Bell Creek Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Sarasota Christian with a sharp 3-0 win.
Bell Creek Academy never let Sarasota Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-15.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bell Creek Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lyla Hunt, who had 12 digs and one assist.
Meanwhile, Cambridge Christian came up short against Admiral Farragut on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the BlueJackets recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Cambridge Christian was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Admiral Farragut work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 24-26, 25-21, 25-20.
Cambridge Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Bell Creek Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-14.
Bell Creek Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Cambridge Christian in their previous meeting back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
