The John Marshall Justices had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.6 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They walked away with a 62-51 victory over Moravian Prep.
John Marshall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Damon Thompson Jr led the charge by scoring 23 points along with two steals. Thompson Jr continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Latrell Allmond was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
John Marshall has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Moravian Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 18-2.
John Marshall will head out on the road to face off against the Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glen Allen will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Justices are ranked second). As for Moravian Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Circuit Riders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
