The Socorro Bulldogs will be home for the holidays to greet the El Dorado Aztecs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Wednesday, Socorro took a serious blow against Eastwood, falling 70-28. Socorro has not had much luck with Eastwood recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, El Dorado's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 70-30 loss at the hands of Americas. While losing is never fun, El Dorado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1179th, while Americas is ranked 93rd).
Socorro's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for El Dorado, they bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Socorro came up short against El Dorado in their previous meeting back in February, falling 45-34. Thankfully for Socorro, Arturo Sanchez (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
