With a playoff game on the line, the Calhoun Tigers rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 47-38 win over the Eagles. The victory was some much needed relief for Calhoun as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Calhoun found their leader in underclassman Alivia Mason, who scored 18 points. Layla Gary was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Calhoun's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-14. As for Ellwood Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 13 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Calhoun didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-56 victory vs. Autaugaville on the 7th. Ellwood Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
