After two games on the road, Castaic is heading back home. They will take on the Hueneme Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Castaic suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 84-41 loss at the hands of West Ranch. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Castaic in their matchups with West Ranch: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-34, which was the final score in Hueneme's tilt against Channel Islands on Friday.
Despite the loss, Hueneme got a solid performance out of Benito Gutierrez, who scored 11 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Gutierrez grabbed two or more steals.
Castaic has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Hueneme, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
