4A Region 1 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Itawamba Agricultural extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 1 this week by beating Kosciusko, 42-0. This was the team's 11th consecutive win.
Itawamba Agricultural took down the Whippets 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ashton Shumpert ran for 158 yards and caught two passes for 32 yards in the win.
Chavis Dilworth was the best wideout in the league this week as Shannon fell to Noxubee County. Dilworth tallied three receptions for 63 yards. Diamante Pounds helped Shannon's passing attack out by catching four balls for 26 yards.
Jon David Poss put up the best numbers through the air as Amory lost to Houston. He finished with a total of 13 completions for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Poss' favorite target this week was Devin McIntosh, who caught four passes for 44 yards.
The Panthers' Poss and McIntosh have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Poss has thrown for 2469 yards this season, while McIntosh, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 42 catches for 838 yards. Pounds from the Red Raiders leads the league in rushing with 1544 yards.
Dario Robinson has rushed for 982 yards on 114 carries so far this year.
The Indians led 4A Region 1 in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Kosciusko. Shumpert in the win.
