Adding to the longest winning streak in NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools this week, Charlotte Christian beat Providence Day 38-10. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
The Chargers fell to Charlotte Christian 38-10 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Jason Estep's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Austin Kendall threw for 162 and 2 touchdowns and Jeb Blazevich had 101 yards receiving. On the ground Elijah Deveaux chipped in 143 yards. Matthew Weigel helped Charlotte Christian's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 57 yards.
Gordon Teter made the biggest impact on defense this week as Charlotte Country Day topped Charlotte Latin. He racked up 1 sack.
Cole Bloomer was a passing and rushing force as the Buccaneers bested the Hawks. He completed 15 passes for 209 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 9 yards. Bloomer's favorite target this week was Matt Williams, who caught 3 passes for 79 yards.
Kendall put up the best numbers through the air as the Knights topped Providence Day. Kendall's favorite target this week was Blazevich, who caught 5 passes for 101 yards.
Charlotte Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kendall has thrown for 1,344 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Bo Hines has 41 catches for 622 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Charlotte Christian takes on Bruce Hardin's team. At the moment, the Knights are in first, while the Chargers are in fourth.
Charlotte Country Day and Charlotte Latin played the closest game in the league this week, with Charlotte Country Day eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory. Bloomer in the win.
