They took a 76-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clarkrange in their matchups with Van Buren County: they've now lost five in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kristopher Beaty, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Bryton Swallows was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cumberland County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-44 walloping at the hands of Rhea County. While losing is never fun, Cumberland County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Rhea County is ranked 64th).
Clarkrange's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for Cumberland County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
