Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Penns Grove Red Devils, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 34-14 walloping at the hands of Woodstown on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Penns Grove in their matchups with Woodstown: they've now lost four in a row.
Although Penns Grove took the loss, they still got scores from Karon Ceaser and Bryce Wright.
Leading Woodstown to victory were Max Webb and Bryce Belinfanti. Webb threw for 119 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, while Belinfanti rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Belinfanti has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last six times he's played.
Penns Grove now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Woodstown, their win was their fourth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Penns Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Woodstown has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Woodbury. Woodbury is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
