TAPPS Division III District 3 recap October 8, 2013
First Baptist scaled the state rankings by moving to 328 from 354 this week, the biggest jump in TAPPS Division III District 3. The Saints were able to move up by topping Legacy Christian Academy 56-28.
First Baptist extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Eagles, 56-28. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Garland Christian Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Swordsmen feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Braxton Berry has thrown for 2,886 yards and 34 touchdowns this season, while Caine Robbins has 48 catches for 1,319 yards. Berry also leads the league in rushing with 549 yards.
Garland Christian Academy's Marcus Ketter needs only 81 receiving yards against Highlands to crack 1,000 for the season. So far this year, he has acheived 67 catches for 919 yards.
At the moment, the Saints are in first, while Dallas Lutheran is in fourth.
The Lions fell to Covenant Christian 68-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
