Leading Benjamin to victory were Keegan Hayes and Grayson Rigdon. Hayes dropped a triple-double on 31 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists, while Rigdon shot 8-for-17 from downtown and dropped a triple-double on 45 points, 15 rebounds, and ten steals. The game was Rigdon's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tallon Hayes, who scored four points along with four steals.
Newcastle's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Benjamin, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newcastle will take on Throckmorton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
