7A District 9 recap October 1, 2013
Pinellas Park added to the longest winning streak in 7A District 9 this week by beating Dixie Hollins, 35-21. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Patriots.
Seminole moved up to 334 from 366 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warhawks were able to move up by losing to Palm Harbor University 34-33.
Pinellas Park's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Donte Maxson contributed 132 yards.
Maxson was a passing and rushing force as Kenneth Crawford's team bested the Rebels.
Maxson was the best running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 132 yards as the Patriots topped Dixie Hollins. Teammate Addison added to the ground attack by rushing for 113 yards.
Leading 7A District 9 in both passing and receiving yards, Countryside's Robby Hicks and Slyvester Kimbrough have proven to be a lethal combination. Hicks has thrown for 506 yards this season, while Kimbrough has 14 catches for 196 yards. Pinellas Park's Maxson leads the league in rushing yards with 532.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when East Lake takes on Seminole. As it stands, the Eagles are in second, while Chris Miller's team is in fourth.
East Lake took down Tarpon Springs 49-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jake Hansen during the win.
