The McKinleyville Panthers lost against the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack back in December of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. McKinleyville lost to Cosumnes Oaks at home by a decisive 72-54 margin. While losing is never fun, McKinleyville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Cosumnes Oaks is ranked 40th).
McKinleyville's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bode Douglass, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Flynn Creighton, who scored 13 points.
McKinleyville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Cosumnes Oaks, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
McKinleyville will play host again and welcome Lincoln, where tip off is scheduled for TBD on Saturday. Cosumnes Oaks will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Eagle Point at 4:30 p.m. on December 2nd.
