They really took it to Freeport for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-27 win at home. Boylan Catholic has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 24 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Lilian Esparza, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gianna Marinaro, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Boylan Catholic's win was their 21st straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Freeport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14.
Boylan Catholic will head out on the road to take on Guilford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freeport, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Rockford East at 6:30 p.m. Rockford East has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17.
