The Griffin Bears had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Jackson 50-28.
Griffin found their leader in underclassman Naima Foster, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camiya Starks, who scored 11 points.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Janyla Lawrence, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds. Ariyah Burke was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 8 rebounds.
Griffin's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Jackson, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Griffin will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westside at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Westside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on December 6th. As for Jackson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lamar County at 6:00 p.m.
