It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Fultondale Wildcats can now relate to. They took a hard 43-27 fall against Deshler on Friday. Fultondale has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Fultondale still got an impressive performance from Rodreckus Johnson, who rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Fultondale's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-1 Cherokee County and 10-1 Corner (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 80.5% over those games). As for Deshler, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Fultondale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Deshler will face off against Westminster Christian Acadmey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
