Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pharr-San Juan-Alamo). They blew past the Edinburg North Cougars 22-1 on Thursday. The Bears are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.

Jacob Delgadillo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo got a massive performance out of James Cansino, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Cansino a new career-high. TJ Ayala was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo pushed their record up to 23-2-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Edinburg North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 15 of their last 16 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-24 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo is set to challenge their familiar foe La Joya at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 2.8, the Coyotes 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Edinburg North will face off against rival Edinburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
