The Bloomfield Bobcats will square off against the Deming Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bloomfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Deming will be up against a hot Bloomfield team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Bobcats' pitcher stepped up to hand Aztec a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted since March 29th.

Trae Woods made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Troy Jaramillo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Deming and Santa Teresa had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wildcats lost 11-4 to the Desert Warriors on Friday. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Desert Warriors since on Friday.
Deming saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Allison, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Bloomfield's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Deming, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-8.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bloomfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .399. However, it's not like Deming struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
