5A District 13 recap October 1, 2013
Hardee scaled the state rankings by moving to 115 from 171 this week, the biggest jump in 5A District 13. The Wildcats were able to move up by defeating Frostproof 14-12.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Booker beat Braden River 20-18. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Tornadoes.
Southeast's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. James Thomas threw for 41 yards and Kadarrius Carley had 27 yards receiving. On the ground Kevin Johnson chipped in 39 yards.
Thomas put up the best numbers in passing as the Seminoles lost to Manatee. Thomas' favorite target this week was Carley, who caught 2 passes for 27 yards.
Southeast's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Seminoles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jack Shinn has thrown for 464 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Carley has 8 catches for 217 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Booker takes on second place Hardee.

Southeast lost to the Hurricanes 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Johnson was a bright spot for Paul Maechtle's team, as he ran for 39 yards in the loss.
