The Spartanburg Day Griffins lost against the Greenville H Hurricanes back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Spartanburg Day had to suffer through a rough 58-21 loss at the hands of the Hurricanes. While losing is never fun, Spartanburg Day can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 41st).
Greenville H was led to victory by Opal Maralit and Keely Price. Maralit scored 14 points along with eight steals, while Price scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Price is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bailey Amerson, who scored five points along with two steals.
Spartanburg Day's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Greenville H, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 22-1.
Spartanburg Day will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenville H does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
