The Pueblo County Hornets suffered their closest  defeat yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Palmer Ridge by a score of  45-43. Pueblo County has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second  loss in a row.
 When it comes to explaining why Pueblo County lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Johnathan Gonzales. Despite the final result, he  scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Dominic Mauro, who  scored nine points along with seven  rebounds and two  steals.
  Jimmer Weir continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Palmer Ridge,  scoring 16 points along with six  steals. Weir has been hot recently, having posted two or more  steals the last six times he's  played.  Alex Kraft was another key contributor,  scoring eight points along with six  rebounds.
 Pueblo County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Palmer Ridge, they now  have a winning record of 7-6.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pueblo County will stay at home for another  game and welcome Pueblo Centennial at 7:30  p.m.  on January 16th. Hopefully Pueblo Centennial focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up nine last Friday. As for Palmer Ridge, they will be playing at home against Lutheran at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Lutheran will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
