It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Coldspring-Oakhurst had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Hempstead Bobcats as they made off with a 17-2 win. Coldspring-Oakhurst got a massive performance out of Jasper Williams, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Williams is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Haylee Rosales was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Coldspring-Oakhurst lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in February.
The victory (which was Coldspring-Oakhurst's 11th in a row) raised their record to 22-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Hempstead, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
