Eagle Pass has gone 9-1 against Alexander recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagle Pass Eagles will be playing at home against the Alexander Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Eagle Pass will be strutting in after a victory while Alexander will be coming in after a defeat.
Eagle Pass will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating South San Antonio, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Eagle Pass had just enough and edged out South San Antonio 3-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since February 25, 2020, but that streak is no more.
Roccia Moreno was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Sofia Torres looked comfortable as she pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Mia Silva was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base was her first of the season. Karina Gomez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Alexander was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Medina Valley, falling 8-2. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Alexander saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacquelyn Tijerina, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
Eagle Pass pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Alexander, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
Eagle Pass took their victory against Alexander in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-4. Will Eagle Pass repeat their success, or does Alexander have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
