The Onaga Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They took a hard 50-33 fall against Doniphan West. Onaga was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Doniphan West apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Onaga saw an underclassman step up: Casen Hutfles almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Hutfles scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Rayce Fisher, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.

Onaga will head out on the road to square off against Clifton-Clyde at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clifton-Clyde knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Onaga likes a good challenge. As for Doniphan West, they will head out on the road to challenge Centralia on Monday. Centraliapresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Doniphan West in Kansas (Centralia is ranked 75th, while Doniphan West is ranked 297th).
