Softball Recap: Summit Has No Trouble Against Creek Wood

Summit barely beat Creek Wood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Summit blew past Creek Wood 10-4 on Saturday. Considering the Spartans have won five games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Samantha Malcolm was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Audrey Cathey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Summit always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Summit back to even at 7-7. As for Creek Wood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.

Summit has already played their next contest, a 9-4 victory against Sycamore on the 29th. As for Creek Wood, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-3 win against Lauderdale County on the 29th.
