The Rayne Wolves will face off against the Northside Christian Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Rayne and Eunice have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Wolves took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Btlng Bobcats.
Rayne saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addisyn Fontenot, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Northside Christian made easy work of David Thibodaux on Thursday and carried off an 18-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 12 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Brooklyn Hebert made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Hebert was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Northside Christian got a massive performance out of Miley Ashby, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Ashby a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabella Bertrand, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Northside Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .551. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as David Thibodaux only posted an OBP of .333.
Northside Christian has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Rayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.
Rayne couldn't quite finish off Northside Christian in their previous matchup back in February and fell 4-2. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
