V Section I recap October 8, 2013
Tuba City extended the longest winning streak in V Section I this week by beating Many Farms, 59-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Warriors.
Tuba City took down the Lobos 59-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Roland Becenti threw for 175 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 26 yards during the win.
Rick Benjamin's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Sergio Oliver contributed 152 yards. Oliver helped Tuba City's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 26 yards.
Jeremy Yazzie was the best wideout in the league this week as the Warriors bested Many Farms. Yazzie tallied 4 receptions for 121 yards. Oliver helped Tuba City's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 26 yards.
Tuba City's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Becenti has thrown for 954 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Yazzie has 15 catches for 443 yards.
Blake Sekaquaptewa of the Hopi is just 9 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Sekaquaptewa has rushed for 991 yards on 102 carries so far this year.
At the moment, the Bruins are in first, while the Lobos are in fourth.
Tuba City led the league in scoring this week by notching 59 points on Many Farms. Becenti ran for 26 yards in the win.
