Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Bellville Brahmas, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Buckeyes by a score of 28-26. Bellville's defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.
Bellville lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sam Hranicky, who rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Hranicky was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of DD Murray, who gained 153 total yards and a touchdown.
Will Henderson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gilmer, rushing for 227 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Henderson set a new season high mark in carries with 27. Gilmer also got help from Ta'Erik Tate who showed off his sure hands for 115 receiving yards.
Bellville's loss dropped their record down to 15-1. As for Gilmer, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Bellville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gilmer also has no future games currently scheduled.
