If the Highline Pirates were riding high off their 49-27 takedown of the Tyee Titans last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Highline took a 33-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sammamish on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Highline of the 41-26 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Sammamish was led to victory by Tezi Lyons and Sophia Eastman. Lyons dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds, while Eastman scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. Lyons is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.
Highline's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Sammamish, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Highline will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Sammamish, they will head out on the road to face off against Tyee at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
