Basketball Recap: Jones Wins Going Away Against Cypress Creek

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Osceola, Jones was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 64-52 victory over the Cypress Creek Bears. That looming 64-52 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Fightin' Tigers yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jones to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenyon Holmes, who posted 30 points. The dominant performance gave Holmes a new career-high in points. Jaquail Smith was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Cypress Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being William Luis III, who put up 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Navaris Mora, who posted ten points.

Jones moved to 4-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Cypress Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jones will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. Jones is facing Horizon at the right time seeing as Horizon is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Cypress Creek will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Freedom at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th. Cypress Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season.
