The Freedom Eagles had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. Their rough 49-28 defeat to Gainesville might stick with them for a while. Freedom has not had much luck with Gainesville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Gainesville found their leader in underclassman Peyton White, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. The game was White's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Leylani Abraham was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Gainesville, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Freedom will head out on the road to face off against Lightridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gainesville, they will face off against Mastery Charter North - Pickett at 7:10 p.m. on Friday. Mastery Charter North - Pickett is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
