It was another big night for Sam Newcomer, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals for Fort Wayne HomeSchool. Isaiah King was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Smith Academy dropped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.5 points per game. As for Fort Wayne HomeSchool, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smith Academy will challenge Cambridge City Lincoln at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Wayne HomeSchool will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Angola HomeSchool at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. Angola HomeSchool will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 428th, while Fort Wayne HomeSchool is ranked 58th).
