AAAAA Region 7A recap October 1, 2013
Cambridge scaled the state rankings by moving to 368 from 415 this week, the biggest jump in AAAAA Region 7A. The Bears were able to move up by beating Pope 41-32.
Northview and Riverwood played the closest game in the league this week, with Northview eventually emerging with a 34-32 victory. Dj Pearson threw for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 51 yards in the win.
Kyle Wilkie threw for 266 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 22-33 with 1 interception.
Nathan Phillips was the best receiver in the league this week as the Titans bested the Raiders. Phillips tallied 7 receptions for 85 yards. Matty Biondich helped Northview's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 63 yards.
Northview's Pearson and Biondich led AAAAA Region 7A in both passing and receiving yards. Pearson has thrown for 1,140 yards this season, while Biondich has 32 catches for 427 yards. Creekview's Isaiah Rodgers leads the league in rushing yards with 288.
The Grizzlies' offense has scored 103 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Sequoyah has allowed only 76 on the year.
At the moment, the Chiefs are in first, while Creekview is in third.
Terry Crowder's team took down Osborne 54-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Wilkie ran for 38 yards during the win.
