The Tecumseh Indians are taking a road trip to face off against the Adrian Maples at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tecumseh is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Western hit Tecumseh with a five-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Connor Bullinger was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Bennett, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Adrian got the win against Gabriel Richard on Saturday by a conclusive 9-3. The Maples might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Carter Howard, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Adrian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-9-1 when he doesn't). Luke Bruggeman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Adrian and bumps their season record up to 12-9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Tecumseh, their loss dropped their record down to 16-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tecumseh has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Adrian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Tecumseh skirted past Adrian 2-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Maples turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
