3A Tri-Valley recap October 29, 2013
Roosevelt added to the longest winning streak in 3A Tri-Valley this week by beating Northridge, 47-21. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Roughriders.
Silver Creek took down Mead 45-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Brenden Fulton threw for 302 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 22-41 with 2 interceptions.
Kayson Werner was the best wideout in the league this week as the Grizzlies lost to Roosevelt. Werner tallied 9 receptions for 158 yards. Jay Frye helped Northridge's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 102 yards.
Northridge's Fulton and Frye have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-9 quarterback Fulton has thrown for 2,032 yards this season, while Frye has 53 catches for 860 yards. Randy Molinar from Noland Eastin's team leads the league in rushing with 1,062 yards.
The Maverick's Kyle Couch needs only 35 yards against the Roughriders next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Couch has rushed for 965 yards on 99 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in 3A Tri-Valley this week will be when Mead takes on Roosevelt. At the moment, Jason Klatt's team is in first, while the Roughriders are in third.
There should be lots of points scored when the Maverick and Roosevelt face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Mead comes in having scored 304 this season, while the Roughriders have scored 291. The Maverick scored 13 points last week as they lost to the Raptors.
Berthoud made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,177 from 11,346. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 32-7 victory over Skyline last week.
