Kaiden Robbins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Landon Robbins, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
McCreary Central never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Jellico on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 18-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Mason Ball looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, McCreary Central got a massive performance out of Joshua Weaver, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Tristen West also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
McCreary Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jellico struck out seven times.
Pineville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for McCreary Central, their record now sits at 6-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pineville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like McCreary Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Pineville might still be hurting after the 15-2 loss they got from McCreary Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Pineville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
