The Oak Park-River Forest Huskies will be taking part in a tournament against the Jones Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Oak Park-River Forest barely beat Hinsdale Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies blew past the Red Devils 8-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Huskies have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Carolyn Rainey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sienna Staszak was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Georgia Godellas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Jones got themselves on the board against Maine East on Monday, but Maine East never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Blue Demons. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly ten runs.
Jamilette Hernandez and Delaney Treccia did most of the damage at the plate: Hernandez went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Treccia went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Julissa Galvaz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Jones was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Oak Park-River Forest's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-11. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Jones, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.
Oak Park-River Forest got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 against Jones by a conclusive 20-0 score. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
