Currituck County is 0-10 against Northeastern since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Currituck County Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Northeastern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Currituck County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Currituck County can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Pasquotank County as Currituck County made off with a 54-28 win. Given Currituck County's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Pasquotank County is ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Currituck County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Arianna White out in front who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. White hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Parker, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Northeastern, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-47 loss to Deep Creek on Monday.
Currituck County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Northeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
Currituck County lost to Northeastern on the road by a decisive 58-41 margin when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Northeastern's Jasmine Felton, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 16 rebounds.
