The Lincoln Park Railsplitters will be playing at home against the Carlson Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carlson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln Park, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Lincoln Park strolled past Trenton with points to spare, taking the game 54-38. Given Lincoln Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Trenton is ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Carlson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Anderson by a score of 53-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Carlson has suffered yet this season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brendan Stanley, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Austin Saavedra, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Carlson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Lincoln Park pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Carlson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Lincoln Park was able to grind out a solid win over Carlson in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 57-49. Does Lincoln Park have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carlson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
