After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pembroke Pines Charter, Satellite was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Merritt Island Christian Cougars get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Scorpions have won eight games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Mallory Hines made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Hines was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Satellite got a massive performance out of Karalyn Webb, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Webb has posted since back in March. Claire Salaski also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Satellite was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Satellite moved to 11-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Merritt Island Christian, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Satellite will take on Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Scorpions are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Merritt Island Christian, they will challenge Cocoa Beach at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
