The Tremont Eagles will be playing at home against the Biggersville Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Tremont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Tremont lost to Wheeler on the road by a decisive 41-27 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tremont in their matchups with Wheeler: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite their defeat, Tremont saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Grace Gillespie, who scored 4 points along with 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Saige Black was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Biggersville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 31 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped back in November as they easily beat Corinth 67-36 on the road. The victory was just what Biggersville needed coming off of a 54-28 loss in their prior matchup.
Tremont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1. As for Biggersville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
