Two dominant backs in Sebastien Boyle and Jett Tingelhoff are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Scottsbluff Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the Elkhorn North at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Scottsbluff is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
Last Friday, Scottsbluff never let their opponents score. They strolled past York with points to spare, taking the game 14-0.
Scottsbluff's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nate Kelley, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown. Kelley hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.
Meanwhile, Elkhorn North beat Elkhorn 31-21 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Elkhorn North.
Elkhorn North's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tingelhoff, who rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and Johnny Ferguson, who rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Tingelhoff really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.
Scottsbluff's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Elkhorn North, their win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Scottsbluff has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 297.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Elkhorn North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 253.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
