Basketball Recap: Oakhill Christian Takes a Loss

Oakhill Christian played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 76-44 defeat at the hands of the Rock County Christian Eagles. The Royals haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Elijah Harman and Isaac Vogel certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Harman dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds, while Vogel posted 18 points. Harman has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last five times he's played.

Even though they lost, Oakhill Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rock County Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derek Quinn, who went 8-for-16 en route to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Gideon Ukwuorji, who went 9-for-12 on his way to 18 points along with eight boards and three blocks.

Oakhill Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Rock County Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.
