The Blue River Valley Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2023 than the 65-37 stomp they got on the road against Southwestern. That 65-37 margin sets a new team best for Blue River Valley this season.
Charlee Gibson was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 2 assists. Those 32 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Maciah Driskill, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Blue River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Southwestern, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Blue River Valley is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Eastern Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd. Eastern Hancock will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. As for Southwestern, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Morristown. Hopefully Morristown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
